Waterproofing Systems

Cavity drain Membranes

Cavity drain membranes provide an alternative to conventional cementitous Tanking systems, which work by holding water back

(water management) Cavity drain Membranes work on the principle of allowing water to continue to penetrate the structure but control it in the air gap and divert it to a suitable drainage point. They do not allow pressure to build up against the internal construction and the air gap behind the membrane allows the structure to breathe and to some extent dry out. The membranes are loose laid on floors and fixed to walls using special plugs and sealing material with little or no preparation required to the substrate.

Once the membrane has been fitted, wall surfaces can be drylined or plastered directly and floors can be screeded or a floating floor system installed.

Typical areas of use:

  • Barn conversions
  • Existing basement waterproofing
  • Cellar conversions
  • Pavement volts

Cementitous Tanking Systems

Apply to new construction or existing which are a traditional method of waterproofing and can be used as an alternative to cavity drain membranes.

In certain applications cementitous systems are suited to contracts where limited areas are to be treated or where drainage cannot be easily achieved. These systems can also be used in combination with cavity drain membranes most commonly where headroom is limited.

Typical areas of use:

  • Watertight concrete structures
  • Below ground
  • New build and retro fit basements
  • Swimming pools
  • Car parks
  • Dry Rot in Stevenage
  • Basement Tanking in Harrow
  • Damp Proofing in Barnet
